About Me

My photo
Annina Altherr
Hi! My name is Annina Altherr and I have been selected to join the Yukon delegation at this year’s United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP22) in Marrakesh, Morocco. I spent many childhood summers at my parents’ wilderness lodge in the southeastern corner of the Yukon Territory. Those summers nurtured a passion for the environment and the sustainable use of its resources, which led me to the Geography and Environmental Studies program at the University of Victoria. My main interests include environmental science and social justice, particularly in relation to sustainable living and climate change. A field school to Northern Europe and a course in Canadian environmental politics piqued my interest in climate change and international policy, which ultimately culminated in the position of Climate Change Youth Ambassador with the Government of Yukon. I am incredibly excited to explore the realm of international climate negotiations and what that means for Canadians, particularly in the north. Please shoot me a message if you have any questions, want to discuss anything, or just want to connect with me!
